Hingham Heritage Fund (Charity No 1071172)

The Covid pandemic continued to have an effect on plans over the past year and Heritage did not feel it was advisable to hold any of our usual events. However, plans are in place for a number of things for the coming year. 

Repairs to the guttering, have been completed and the inspection of the ringing floor should now be in hand. 

We would welcome any new members to our Committee or anyone who would like to help at our events to work alongside our current stalwarts. 

We have monthly cake stalls in Hingham Market Place, on the 4th Saturday of the month, from 8.30am until sold out!

Thurrold Payne & Common Allotment Ecclesiatical Charity (Charity No. 244918)

The Thurrold and Payne Charity provides open space for use as allotment gardens and uses income generated from rents to help the poor of the parish of Hingham.

All the 31 full size plots and 13 half size plots were let during 2021.

Summary of the work undertaken in 2021;

• Three allotments; South 11, South 12 and North 10 (East) were cleared of accumulated rubbish and new mixed native hedging planted along the boundaries of all 3 plots (also including North 10 (West)). Approximately 40 metres in total, with 12 different varieties of hedging and a total of 94 plants.
• Trees planted; 4 silver birch, 1 wild service tree and 1 rowan tree
• The main entrance gate and side railings leading from the allotment gardens to Dereham Road were cleaned, prepared and re-painted.
